Do you have ideas for promoting Creative Commons in Hong Kong? Do you have issues nad concerns you'd like to raise? Please raise them here.

Two ideas by Oiwan

1. some of you from the university can consider applying for the Central Policy Unit's funding to do a research on the localization of cc in hk. they have very good funding for public policy. since the gov't is now very weak in digital policy, the chance is rather high.

2. if there is resource, we can at least publish a small booklet on cc for teachers and secondary school students. last time in our copyrights campaign, we have some dialogue with secondary school teachers, and they need more resources for introducing the issue.

2a. (by Haggen) We should persuade HKEdCity.net (a large online education resources website run by the government) to adopt CC as it can simplify their current copyright management and encourage sharing. e.g.

3. Emoticons (by Haggen)
With Reference to Richy Li's article 彎彎CC，the most successful project with commercial implications in Taiwan using the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative is by a Cartoonist called WanWan. She produced a number of emoticons to be used for Noncommercial-No Derivative purposes and she became very famous. Her products are now on sale in 7-11 stores in Taiwan. Many other Taiwan cartoonists followed her example(See Lamji's sidebar). Some of them are already publishing their own comics or employed for some commercial projects. In Hong Kong, I only found Lamji sharing emoticons. There may be more artists in Hong Kong sharing their work in emoticon form but this idea is something that We can promote.

3a. An Icon for a whole thing (by Jerry~Yuyu)
I think it is good for us to have an icon for the whole project ASAP. It allows us put this on our-sites, and will be useful in events. Also a quest for such symbol will help our promotions a bit.
